Our mild weather makes year-round play possible. Savannah public courses include Crosswinds Golf Club (232 James B. Blackburn Drive) and The Club at Savannah Harbor (2 Resort Drive). And if you have a little one who's wanting to tee off, check out First Tee – Savannah, part of an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. … Youth soccer is having a major moment in Savannah. Clubs like Savannah United (702 Mall Blvd., Ste. C) and Tormenta FC (2704 Old Register Road, Statesboro) offer a mix of recreational and competitive soccer. For a great resource for countless other recreational and sports options, check out Savannah Sports Council, an arm of the Savannah Chamber that works to develop sport-related events (like the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon & 5K) and support and promote clubs for everything from pickleball to cheer, lacrosse and more. Of particular import and safety for our coastal region, kids can dive into swimming through several recreational and competitive swimming opportunities. From swim instruction to water aerobics, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia has options for all ages and abilities. For more serious swimmers, the Chatham County Aquatic Center is home to several year-round competitive swim teams, like the Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team, the Low Country Aquatic Club and the Savannah Swim Team. ... Quickly growing in popularity, volleyball offers a healthy outlet for active adolescents. Club Savannah Volleyball has teams, summer camps and developmental programs for girls ages 8–18. There's also Powers Volleyball Club, a Jacksonville- founded club that recently expanded to Savannah. Throughout Savannah, Hilton Head Island and Brunswick, Chain Baseball offers a fun and supportive environment for kids to learn and play baseball and fastpitch softball. But why let kids have all the fun? The Savannah Adult Recreation Club is a close-knit, friendly community that helps "grown-ups" take a break from the daily grind through co-ed recreational kickball, softball and volleyball leagues.
