In 2025, voters approved ESPLOST V, which extends the already-existing 1% sales tax designated for public school capital projects. Plans include a new high school and athletic complex for rapidly growing western Chatham County, a renovation of the district's central office to create space for a student learning center to house a new architectural design and historic preservation pathway, new facilities for Windsor Forest Elementary and the STEM Academy, along with improvements for the district's charter schools. ESPLOST dollars also have provided a valued resource in paying down previously incurred bond debt. EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, gifted programs, STEM Education, Career Pathways and college credit programs are growing in popularity. Innovative teaching tools that focus on literacy and math are also helping students excel in all curriculum areas. TECHNOLOGY Educators throughout SCCPSS use instructional technology to bring teaching to life. Digital resources enhance instruction and provide support for teaching practices that are student-centered, inventive and engaging. Interactive instructional models coupled with project-based learning and initiatives are providing students with the tools they will need to be successful in college and their careers.
