Each year, students from the public school system enter the world of work in area businesses and industries, or continue their educational aspirations at some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the nation. SCCPSS boasts national award-winning schools, two National Blue Ribbon Schools, two National Green Ribbon Schools, two Georgia Lighthouse Schools to Watch and one STEAM-certifi ed and three STEM-certifi ed elementary schools. COLLEGE AND CAREER READY Making sure that all students are prepared for a productive future starts by setting the foundation for success in college or a career. SCCPSS educators work to ensure students graduate with a strong understanding of career options and collegiate pathways. Career Pathways are a series of related courses and experiences designed to provide rigorous academic and technical content with seamless transitions for every high school student to obtain college and career success, which may include skills development, certifi cates or articulated college credit. SCCPSS offers all 17 of the Georgia Department of Education pathways and has obtained the Economic Development Partnership Designation from GADOE and the Georgia Economic Developers Association. The EFP designation recognizes districts that exemplify best practices and behaviors to support economic development, strengthen their programs, and align education with vital regional industries. Work-based learning integrates workplace experiences and career and technical education.
