Savannah Economic Trends
The City of Savannah (103 square miles) is located in Chatham County, which lies south of the Savannah River, the
boundary between South Carolina and Georgia. The Savannah Metropolitan Statistical Area comprises of Chatham,
Bryan and Effingham counties. Liberty, Long, Bulloch and Wayne counties complete the geographic boundary of
the Savannah/Hinesville/Statesboro Combined Statistical Area (CSA). The Savannah Primary Trade Area, a
designation that informs linkages in population and shopping trends, also includes Beaufort and Jasper counties in
South Carolina.
