Savannah is well-known and adored for its natural beauty, signature coastal cuisines, eclectic restaurants, carefully curated boutiques, historical architecture and attractions. It charms its residents and visitors with its quirky culture and reputation. But the warm hospitality of the locals makes this destination unmatched, making it so easy for newcomers to feel right at home. I know this firsthand because my wife and I just relocated here ourselves, and it's one of the best decisions we've ever made. We've found that the Savannah area's rich history is carefully preserved and blended with a casual and cultured lifestyle appealing to newcomers and locals. That is probably why so many national magazine polls rank Savannah among the top cities in the U.S. and worldwide every year. Savannah has been named one of the "Top U.S. Cities" by Travel + Leisure and one of the "Best Small U.S. Cities" by Condé Nast Traveler, plus a slew of other nods from publications around the world. You have come to the right state if you are looking to relocate your business. Georgia's pro-business environment has been ranked as "The Best State to do Business" for nine consecutive years by Area Development magazine, one of the go-to sources for site selectors and corporate real estate professionals. Our economy and employment base shows strength in the manufacturing, health care, port-related logistics/distribution, tourism, military, film and retail sectors. Savannah consistently sees balanced growth and economic diversity thanks to the wide range of industries throughout the region. Economic research predicts that Savannah and the Georgia coast will continue to outpace national economic growth and expansion statistics. In 2022, Hyundai Motor Group broke ground in the Savannah area on its first U.S. plant dedicated to making electric vehicles. Construction of the $5.5 billion electric vehicle plant is the largest for Hyundai in the United States. The company plans to open the factory in 2025, with more than 8,100 employees producing up to 300,000 electric vehicles annually. This Savannah-area plant will be Georgia's most significant economic development project. This new facility joins established manufacturers such as Gulfstream and JCB in creating jobs and attracting other businesses to the area, further boosting the local economy. This move is a step in the right direction towards a sustainable future for our region. The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport makes traveling for work or pleasure a breeze by offering more than 35 nonstop flights daily to major cities like Atlanta, New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Denver, Dallas and Chicago. Flights on Allegiant, Avelo, Breeze, Delta, Silver, Southwest and more make Midwest and Northeast destinations reachable nonstop. Doing business from Savannah is easier and more efficient than ever. As you settle in, we encourage you to explore the many attractions and activities that make Savannah a special place to live. From the historic district to the beaches, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Our community is friendly and welcoming, and we are excited to have you be part of it. We wish you all the best as you begin this new chapter in your lives.
