24 SAVANNAHCHAMBER.COM Neighboring Counties BRYAN COUNT Y Lying to the south and southwest of Savannah, Bryan County offers a uniue blend of piney woods and marshland. Its largest town, Richmond Hill, is a lively coastal community that plays host to several seasonal festivals, including the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival, and boasts one of the toprated public school systems in Georgia. Many military families live in and around Richmond Hill, which borders Fort Stewart, the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi. EFFINGHAM COUNT Y Effingham County offers homebuyers a choice of residential areas with different characters onthego Rincon, uaint Guyton and Springfield, the county seat. Many of the organic farmers, horti culturists and ranchers who participate in the weekly Forsyth Farmers Market in downtown Savannah grow produce, raise grassfed cows and hogs, and package their own jellies, jams and honeys in these surrounding communities. LIBERT Y COUNT Y Fort Stewart is the driving force for Liberty Countys economy. Located just 3 minutes south of the Port of Savannah and the SavannahHilton Head International Airport, Liberty is bisected by Interstate 5 and two rail lines and is within two hours of two additional ports and international airports. The Interstate connector to Interstate 5 lies only 5 minutes north. Masterplanned industrial parks with both padready and greenfield sites as well as eisting buildings are available. BULLOCH COUNT Y Located in Georgias spectacular coastal plain, Bulloch County is home to miles of rich farmland and forests filled with gor geous magnolia, dogwood, pine and palm trees. Founded in 3, this county is rich with history and bustling with the energy of Georgia Southern University, a Carnegie Doctoral Research University that offers degree programs to , plus students from 5 states and more than nations. West Savannah WEST CHATHAM COUNT Y The seat of Savannahs industrial and manufacturing base, west Chatham County is also the site of four fastgrowing municipalities: Bloomingdale, Garden City, Pooler and Port Wentworth. These areas boast several growing golf communities, familyoriented spaces with affordable homes, and an abun dance of popular recreational opportunities. BERWICK Berwick includes several distinct, newer neighborhoods crisscrossed by wide sidewalks, connected by golf, tennis and fitness facilities and close to abundant shopping. GEORGETOWN Georgetown was one of the Southeasts first masterplanned suburban communities, and it still thrives. Georgetown now includes a variety of singlefamily, condominium and apartment homes, plus two schools, a community center and plentiful family amenities. SOUTHBRIDGE About 5 minutes west of downtown Savannah, Southbridge offers a variety of newer, larger homes averaging , suare feet. A large golf course and community resort center encourage neighborly interaction.
