4 Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce 2023 Economic Trends 2 Welcome to Savannah The metropolitan Savannah area benefits from a diverse mix of industry and services, a history of sustainable population growth, and a moderate tax structure that combine to help the regional economy maintain a healthy balance and quality of life that continues to rate among the nation's best. 2022 was a record year for Business Development in the Chatham County coastal region, the Savannah Economic Development Authority reports. • 10 Expansion Announcements • 9,263 New Job Opportunities • $5.9 Billion in New Capital Investment • 72 New Projects considering future location expansions Included in the above, Hyundai Motor Group announced the Coastal Region would be home to Georgia's largest-ever economic development project, with 8,100 manufacturing jobs, $5.54 Billion in investment and an additional $1 Billion expected investment from future suppliers.
