17 3 According to Business Facilities magazine Georgia's cyber security industry ranks seventh nationally. Georgia's cyber security industry is located primarily in Atlanta and Augusta. Talent is the key to Atlanta's success whereas the presence of the US Army Cyber Command at Fort Gordon and Georgia Cyber Center are the foundations of Augusta's cyber security economy. Fort Gordon provides a critical mass of dependable contracts. For example, in 2020, Perspecta announced that it will open a regional office at the Georgia Cyber Center creating 178 jobs in support of the U.S. army Cyber Command at Fort Gordon. The Georgia Cyber Center provides the leadership and talent needed to attract more cyber security firms to Georgia. Healthcare IT and telemedicine will create thousands of high-paying jobs in Georgia over the next decade. The COVID-19 crisis greatly accelerated the adoption of telemedicine by traditional healthcare providers, which got large segments of the population accustomed to the online delivery of healthcare. It is likely that many patients will continue to use online healthcare, which bodes well for healthcare providers, healthcare IT companies, and cyber security companies. Georgia is attracting and growing healthcare IT companies. In late 2020, Path-Tec announced an expansion of their operations in Columbus that would create 350 jobs. In 2019, BioIQ – a health IT company – announced that it would create 500 jobs in Cobb County at its new headquarters. In 2019, Edifecs Inc. announced plans to create 200 healthcare IT jobs over the next 3 to 5 years in Atlanta. The build out of headquarters projects is an important force powering Georgia's current and future economic growth. For example, many headquarters projects were announced in 2021- 2022. In 2022, Ecopol announced that it would establish its North American headquarters in Spalding County, creating 130 new jobs. In 2022, Trenton Systems opened a new headquarters in Gwinnett County. In late 2021, Remington Firearms announced it will locate its global headquarters and a new advanced manufacturing facility in LaGrange, creating 856 jobs over a five-year period. Vanderlande Industries, a logistics company, will expand of its North American headquarters in Cobb County, creating 500 new jobs in Marietta. The German multinational liner shipping company Hapag-Lloyd will open its new North American headquarters in Dunwoody, creating 250 jobs for the metro Atlanta area. Soliant, a health care staffing company, will expand its headquarters in Gwinnett County, creating 200 new jobs in Peachtree Corners. GreyOrange, which specializes in the use of AI-software/robotics for fulfillment automation, will relocate of its global headquarters to Roswell, creating 200 new jobs. GCP Applied Technologies, a provider of construction products and technologies, will open a global headquarters in metro Atlanta, creating 80 jobs. Semperit Industrial Products, an international provider of highly specialized rubber products for industrial and medical uses, will open of a new Americans headquarters in Newnan, creating 70 jobs. Heliox, a leading global producer of e-mobility charging systems, will open a North American headquarters in the metro Atlanta area, creating 70 jobs. In addition to headquarters projected announced in 2022-2021, projects announced in prior years will spur growth as they build out more fully and become interwoven into the business fabric o f the state. Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Georgia's ideal geographic location makes Georgia a good hub from which to serve operations in the Americas. In addition, access to talent and the strength of the business community are very important drivers of headquarters locations in the Atlanta MSA. According to FEMA, Georgia has a very low risk for business disruption due to natural disasters, which we believe will be an increasingly important consideration for headquarters locations. Twenty-nine companies with headquarters in metro Atlanta rank among the 2021 Fortune 1000 and sixteen rank among the Fortune 500. Prior to the pandemic (2019), Atlanta was home to 26 Fortune 1,000 companies. The outlook for Georgia's large healthcare industry is good. Overall employment in Georgia health services industry has surpassed its pre-pandemic peak level, but recovery has been extremely uneven across the industry's major subsectors. During the initial lockdown period, many people postponed visits to healthcare providers. Because their health concerns did not disappear, most appointments were rescheduled once the economy reopened. The ambulatory
