43 Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce 2023 Economic Trends 11 Population Projected Growth and Current Age Distribution Savannah's Population Projected to Grow Nearly 40% By 2050, almost 1.3 million people will call the 7-county Savannah/Hinesville/Statesboro CSA home. From 2020 to 2050, the population in the Savannah MSA is projected to grow 34%, adding more than 130,000 people from 2020 to 2050, according to the Georgia Office of Planning and Budget. During this period, Chatham's population is projected to increase by 17%; Bryan will jump 90%; and Effingham County will grow by 75%. The Savannah MSA has many residents in their adult prime spending years with more than 62.6% of the population being from 18 to 64 years of age. In the Savannah MSA, Bryan County has the largest share of the population under 18 years of age (28.2%), while Chatham County holds the highest share of those over the age of 65: 16.8%.
