54 In Bryan County, Newell-PSN, LLC, based out of Ohio commenced operations in a 54,000-square-foot facility in Interstate Centre. The company's investment will be a distribution warehouse for its high-voltage electrical porcelain and glass insulators and high-density polyethylene products for the electric utility industry. The Savannah Economic Development Authority has actively worked to enhance the ecosystem for advanced logistics and distribution in the region. SEDA lobbied to expand the Savannah Logistics Technology Corridor and received $400,000 from the State of Georgia to investigate the development of a Logistics Technology Innovation Hub. Along with Georgia Southern University, SEDA established the Logistics Technology Leadership Council. Long-term prospects for logistics and distribution in the region are exceptionally strong. With the Georgia Ports Authority plan to double capacity, the resultant demand for distribution space will continue to grow, particularly west along the I-16 corridor. The regional market currently has nationwide recognition as the hottest logistics and distribution market in the country. It is fully expected to mature into one of the most important distribution networks in the country.
