Projected Growth and Current Age Distribution
Savannah's Population Projected to Grow Nearly 50%
By 2060, more than 1.3 million people will call the six-county Savannah/Hinesville/Statesboro CSA home. From 2020
to 2060, the population in the Savannah MSA is projected to grow 48%, adding more than 190,000 people from 2020
to 2060, according to the Georgia Office of Planning and Budget. During this period, Chatham's population is projected
to increase by 24%; Bryan will jump 131%; and Effingham County will grow by 108%.

In the Savannah MSA, 22.8% of the population is younger than 18 years. The Savannah MSA has many residents in
their adult prime spending years with more than 62.9% over 18 years of age. Chatham County leads the MSA with
63.4% of the population over 18. Chatham County also holds the highest share of those over the age of 65: 15.4%.
