56 Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce 2019 Economic Trends 11 Population Projected Growth and Current Age Distribution Savannah's Population Projected to Grow Nearly 50% Population in the Savannah MSA is projected to grow 46.7%, adding more than 190,000 people from 2020 to 2050, according to the Georgia Office of Planning and Budget. By 2050, more than 820,000 people will call the 6-county Savannah CSA home. During this period, Chatham's population is projected to increase by 33%; Bryan will jump 110%; and Effingham County will grow by 72%. The Savannah MSA has many residents in their prime spending years with more than 63.1% over 18 years of age, and Chatham County leads the MSA with 64.0% of the population over 18. Chatham County also holds the highest share of those over the age of 64: 14.4%.
